Mu Alpha Theta is a nationally recognized math honor society co-sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematical Association of America. With chapters all across the United States, Mu Alpha Theta is one of the biggest clubs in America.
IMSA's Mu Alpha Theta chapter started many years ago to improve students' interest in math through fun events. However, over the years, the chapter has become more sophisticated, and is now one of the largest clubs on campus. Students elect a board that meets monthly and organizes big events such as the Junior High Math Contest (JHMC), Clash of the Smart People, and more! See a full list of events by going to our event page!
Junior high schools should check out the JHMC contest. IMSA hosts this competition every year as a great way to promote mathematical competition and develop students' problem solving skills. Click on our JHMC page to register your school team, receive for more information, and/or find practice questions
Any questions can be answered by one of our board members or our staff advisors. Go to our contact page for contact information.
