League Games 2005

This was our rookie year, joining this league of 13 other schools. As you can see, there are many games we barely lost, and next year, when we're experienced, we will NOT lose to those teams.

Final Standings:
3 Wins - 5 Losses
8th Place

Day 1
Day 1 #2
This was our first game, and it happened to be against Rockford. They're a big-name team and turned out #2 in the league. Final Score: 8-13 Rockford. Danny Duong, Craig Biwer, Forman, Butters, Jedes, Val, Pips, and T.Tao.
Day 2
Day 2 #2
Game 2 was vs. St. Benedicts. It was a really close game with good plays on both sides. We started out 0-4, but then tied it up at 9's, and then at 10's. They beat us two points to hit 10-12, but we scored to bring it two 11-12. One more point and we would have been tied, and it's win by two. But we didn't get it, so the final score was 11-13 St. Benedict. D.Duong, Ira, Nathan Cheng, Butters, J. Downey, Craig, T.Tao (SAVAGE*)
Day 3 This was against Loyola. They're a first-year team just like us. We won 13-3 and played a pickup game afterwards. We even taught them the basic stack formation.Nathan Cheng, Hawker, Schiber, Hallo!, Jedes, Forman, Ari, Butters, Ira, Downey**, T.Tao
Day 4 Our opponent did not show up. But we have a nice picture for you anyway.Forman, Fawesome, Ira, Jedes, Hallo, Hawker, T.Tao, (Jeff-Coach in picture)
Day 5 Arriving on the field, we only had 6 guys. Loyola only had one guy: Mike. So we matched up and played Northside. We were losing 1-3, when I decided to pull out some defense. I got 3 successful fly-by D's, but then got injured. Playing savage, there was no sub. We had a lead, but couldn't hold up the defense as it was essentially 6 against 7. We lost 11-13. Schiber, Jedes, Mike 2, Butters, D.Duong, T.Tao and honorary member Mike (SAVAGE*)
Day 6 Our team played against Notre Dame. Loyola was supposed to play a school, but that school didn't show up. So, the league organizer decided that our game would be short, to seven win by two. It was a hard game, and we had it deuce 6-6. But Northside ended up with the win, 6-8. That's ok, we beat them when it counted. Schiber, Jedes, Hawker, Hallo, Forman, Ari, Butters, T.Tao
Tournament Final Tournament. Single-Elimination. You lose once and you're out. All the earlier games were just to put teams into seeds. We were seeded 9 out of 14.
Our first game was vs. seed 8 Notre Dame, who left with a win the previous weekend. Our game was the first overtime game, with a cap at 15 no matter what, and we ended up taking it 15-14. Hard-fought game on both sides, with good bids and strong plays from both teams.
Second Game vs. Wheaton South Something. They had three teams in the tournament, and I don't know what happened, but we played a hybrid of their three teams. We recognized some of their players from a pick-up game earlier. Changing the team rooster wasn't something that was supposed to happen, but whatever. Just know it was Wheaton South Something. I guess we were tired from the first game. We lost this one 3-12 at time-cap.
Forman, Pips, Ira, Ari, Nathan Cheng, Butters, Jedes, Downey, D.Duong, Schiber, Mike 2, Hallo**, Craig**, T.Tao

*Savage means that there are only seven people there. Since there must be seven people on the field at a time, this means that there are no substitutes and no breaks except for time-outs and halftime. It's also called running Iron-man.
**Not pictured, but was there and played hardcore.
